The hanging bridges in Arunachal Pradesh are an adventure to walk on, as they swing wildly with every step you take. I crossed this one in Mechuka, a remote village in the north of the state, close to the China border. On the other side is a 400-year-old Buddhist monastery, atop a hill. Before the Indo-China war, the border was open, and people here used to trade with nearby Lhasa, but now they have to depend on getting all their supplies from Aalo.
