Leaf litter, sandy floors, snowy walkways, and what lies hidden in them. Here are our top picks from your overwhelming response to our #LookDown story

Earlier this week, we did an interactive story on forest floors, where you could click on the beautiful illustrations that Daniel Luis made and find camouflaged creatures in the leaf litter. Fun enough, but you made it even more so.
With our canopy series (Red-Silk Cotton and the Fish-Tailed Palm), we asked you to #LookUp and send in photographs of canopies around you. With this, we asked you to do the opposite and #LookDown. And share photographs of the forest floors you've walked on.
We knew you'd join in, but this sort of gorgeous, overwhelming and insightful response, we did not expect. So we thought we'd put them all together to show you what you did. Y'all are the best. Click through the photostory (above) to see why.

We love a good critique but are infinitely partial to compliments. Both, roars and birdsong are welcome at firstname.lastname@example.org
