Anatomy of a Conservation Story
Swati Thiyagarajan is a conservation journalist and the environment editor at NDTV. Her award-winning show Born Wild focuses on issues of conservation and wildlife across India. Her awards include the Ramnath Goenka Award for best environment journalist (twice), the Carl Zeiss award for reporting on Tigers and the Sanctuary Asia "Wind beneath my Wings" award. She handles the editorial content for the Save Our Tigers campaign and the Climate Change Awareness campaign, Greenathon on NDTV. Her film The Animal Communicator has more an 3 million hits on line. At present, she lives and reports on conservation in South Africa and has just finished writing her first book, titled Born Wild on her show and her experiences in the field both on India and in Southern Africa.
At Nature inFocus, 2017, she spoke of a body of work that spans forests, countries and navigates conservation efforts and an exploration of natural history through years of reportage.
