Hikkim in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, is the highest place to host a polling booth. It has the highest post office in the world, at around 4,400m above sea level. I am still waiting for the postcards I sent from there to arrive! The place is also famous for its fossils, which villagers collect and sell to tourists. It was a challenging spot to get to, but luckily, one of the fossil sellers there offered to make me tea after the difficult ride, and she didn’t even charge for it.
