A wild tusker named ‘Chinnathambi’ is pictured raiding a plantain farm in a village in Tirupur. The tusker was relocated to the Anamalai Hills by the Forest Department after much public outcry in the outskirts of Coimbatore city. After the relocation, the wild elephant ventured hundreds of kilometres through towns, agricultural lands and highways before he was captured at this plantain farm, and put in akraal– an enclosure for cattle and other animals.
