A pack of street dogs attacks a family of Smooth-coated Otters on the banks of River Chambal. With the increased destruction of pristine natural habitats, more and more human settlements are encroaching wild spaces, thus bringing feral dogs in contact with wild animals.

Devki Nandan’s photography journey began back in 2004, when he accompanied someone to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and photographed a bird using a borrowed camera. The image went on to get published in Hindustan Times. He now lives in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan, and works with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL). He has explored and documented Smooth-coated Otters and over 350 species of birds around the Chambal river, which flows through his town.
