Up Above the World

The Himalayan Vulture or Himalayan Griffon resides in altitudes between 1200 and 5500 metres. It soars across the mountains by riding the thermal updrafts. The young photographer was in the village of Kibber when she saw this massive vulture dwarfed against the Himalayas, its body almost aligned with the sweep of the mountains.
