As a One-horned Rhinoceros emerged from the dense foliage, the setting sun lit its massive form in a golden glow. Once considered a highly endangered species, today, the state of Assam boasts more than 80 per cent of the wild population of Indian Rhinoceros in the world.


Ashwini Kumar Bhat

Ashwini Kumar Bhat has his roots in the village of Galimane in the central Western Ghats but is currently based in Bangalore. He is a software engineer by profession, and has been expressing and exploring himself through photography for the past decade. He has won several awards and his images have been published in books and magazines across the globe. Ashwini is a founding member of two photography groups – Creative Nature Photography and Landscape Wizards. He is also involved in filmmaking, and his directorial debut ‘Aghanashini’ has been selected for more than 45 international film festivals across 30 countries.
