Once considered among the most abundant large birds of prey, the Long-billed Vulture or Indian Vulture has since plummeted to less than 1 per cent of its population in India due to diclofenac poisoning. Dedicated conservation efforts have since been set in place to protect and improve the vulture populations in the country.
