The Nilgiri Tahr, an endangered species endemic to the shola grasslands of the southern Western Ghats, is photographed against what looks like a thriving habitat. Sadly, habitat destruction is a significant concern, and it is estimated there are only about 2000 mature individuals remaining in the wild.
