Ripan Biswas hails from the village of Coochbehar in West Bengal. A Masters degree holder in Environmental Science, he turned to wildlife photography in 2008. His work has been published in Sanctuary Asia and the BBC Wildlife Magazine. His photographs have received numerous national and international accolades. Ripan is the only Indian photographer to have won the prestigious "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" two times in a row. In 2019, he won the "Portrait" category and the "Wildlife Portfolio" category in 2020.
