Studying Himalayan Langurs was an opportunity that Virendra almost missed, in April of 2018, if his friend had not made him read the email again. His motivation to study primates in the wild principally originated after reading 'Chimpanzee Politics', a book he calls a must-read. Observing Himalayan Langurs in the wild and being able to predict the difference in personalities of different individuals, thrilled him beyond any measure. He continued to do his Masters thesis project in which he studied the characteristics and choice of sleeping sites for Central Himalayan Langurs. He is currently a PhD student at University of Toronto with Dr. Julie Teichroeb where he aims to understand about the possible cues that langurs use to navigate in their highly seasonal habitat. He posts as @amazingvirus on Instagram and Twitter.
