Jury Selection | Wildscape & Animals in Their Habitat
India's national parks are frequented by wildlife photographers who hope to document a tiger in its natural ambience. But, tigers are not restricted to these parks. The high-elevation shola forests of the Western Ghats in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu also support a healthy population of tigers. These big cats are seldom spotted (except on camera traps) owing to the difficulty in accessing their realms and the dense forest undergrowths they prowl through. But if persistent, and with a lot of luck, one may just see one of these shola tigers step out into the open as they traverse the grasslands between the island forest patches. Actually, strike that out because it’s never that easy. Simply enjoy this remarkably rare documentation!
